Dr. Gary Pedersen attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1978 with honors. He purchased Grand Island Optical in 1980, and was later joined with Drs. William and Thomas Grange. He is a member of the American Optometric and Nebraska Optometric Associations. He is a member and the former president of the Grand Island Lions Club. He was awarded the National Head Start Humanitarian Award in 1996. For the last 19 years, Dr. Pedersen has done volunteer-based eye care in underdeveloped countries in Central America, South America, and Mexico. He is married with two children and is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Dr. Richard Brown graduated from Chadron State College in 1977. He taught Chemistry and Physics, and coached football, wrestling and track at Chadron High School from 1977 until 1980. Dr. Brown graduated from Indiana School of Optometry in 1984. In 1983-1984 Dr. Brown served as the president of the American Optometric Student Association. Dr. Brown began solo practice in Grand Island in 1984 and joined Drs. Pedersen and Grange at Grand Island Optical in 1989. Dr. Brown has been active in the Third City Sertoma and served as President in 1994. He is a member of the American Optometric and Nebraska Optometric Associations. He is married with two children and is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Dr. Dawn Langford is orginally from southern Arkansas and received her undergraduate degree from Arkansas State University in 1993. She graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in 1997 with honors. In 1997, she was awarded the Wesley-Jessen excellence award for research done in the contact lens field. She has also co-authored a paper related to dry eye syndrome and contact lens wear. She joined Eyecare Professionals and Grand Island Optical in August of 2000. She is a member of the American Optometric and Nebraska Optometric Associations. She is married to Dr. Jason Langford and has two daughters. She is a member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
Dr. Jason Langford attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in 1997. While attending SCO, he received several awards for clinical excellence. He joined Eyecare Professionals and Grand Island Optical in September 2001 when they acquired Sawyer Optical. He is a member of the American Optometric and Nebraska Optometric Associations. He is actively involved in Duck's Unlimited and is an avid hunter/fisherman. He is married to Dr. Dawn Langford and has two daughters. He is a member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
Dr. Christa Hunnicutt is a native of Grand Island and was a 2001 graduate of Central Catholic. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005. She then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating in 2009. Prior to joining the practice, Dr. Hunnicutt worked for a practice in Omaha and their locations in Lincoln and Iowa. She is an active member of the Nebraska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is also a member of the Aurora Lion’s Club, Aurora Area Chamber and Development Corporation, and City of Aurora Planning Commission. In her free time, Dr. Hunnicutt enjoys running and competing in half marathons. She and her husband live in Aurora.
